The Miami Science Museum and Planetarium hosts amazing laser shows on the first Friday of each month and on special occasions e.g. National Astronomy Day and December Laser Fest. The first Friday laser shows are part of Fabulous First Fridays and include a number of special events. Each Fabulous First Friday begins with a 7:30 p.m. free star show in the Planetarium followed by free telescopic observing in the Weintraub Observatory from 8 until 10 p.m.
The laser shows are complemented by some great music from bands such as Led Zepelllin, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, and the Beatles, just to name a few. Lay down on the Planetarium floor, put some 3D glasses on, and look up into the planetarium roof while you enjoy a vivid laser show and some great tunes.
The Space Transit Planetarium at the Miami Science Museum has been producing laser shows since 1975 and they employ some of the latest laser technology displayed on a 4 story high and 7 story wide dome. Cool!
Laser show admission prices are $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children. Each show requires a separate ticket.
