The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, commonly called The Arsht Center, is Florida’s largest performing arts center. It is located on Biscayne Boulevard at the north end of Downtown Miami.
Designed by Cesar Pelli, the center is composed of two large buildings straddling Biscayne Boulevard. Within, it provides a variety of performances including ballet, Broadway plays, live music, comedy, and much more.
The center was built on the grounds of a former Burdines store — Miami’s first Art Deco Building from 1929. The seven story tower, the only surviving portion of the original building was incorporated into the new performing arts center.
The center is composed of the Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House, the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall, the Carnival Studio Theater, the Peacock Rehearsal Studio and the Parker and Vann Thomson Plaza for the Arts.

After years of budget f-ups and delays, I was very reticent and doubtful about this new venue, until I saw my first show there. Other than the parking, everything about the Arsht Center was a wonderful surprise. The architecture, the acoustics and more than anything, the wide variety of musical and cultural events it has brought to Miami, won me over.
If you haven't checked out the Arsht Center, make it a priority. I saw Pink Martini backed by a full orchestra and it blew me away. My next show, Peru Negro, was even better.
I saw Fueza Bruta there. What a great show plus I work with the Center Staff. They were very professonal.
