Just celebrated my father's 70th birthday there. It is a great location with an amazing view and the food is top of the line. I highly recommend the duck, which is cooked to perfection, and the expresso dessert that is a deconstructed tiramesu. My one issue is that the valet service is a little pricey even with validation.
This bar overlooking the bay and brickell, is a fantastic happy hour spot. With $5 drink specials and inexpensive bar bites you can't go wrong. Was most recently there for a co-workers birthday happy hour and it was a big hit. Not crowded with gorgeous views and an awesome dj. We even got some free bottles of prosecco from having a group with a lot of ladies. Highly recommend this as a hip spot in brickell.
If you are looking for a good downtown Miami hotel and have some money to spend, Epic is a good choice. Right in the River with a location right smack in the middle of downtown and Brickell. Easily walk to both areas, use the metromover, whatever -- its all pretty much there.
I do have to say that the rooms were a bit smallish, at least mine was. Nevertheless, the quality of the furniture and the bedding was quite nice. The view was spectacular, if I remember correctly, we stayed in thr 35th floor.
The service was also not amazing, on par with my other expriences in South Florida though.
This place is top notch for steak and seafood, but not outrageously expensive. The service is super attentive and the decor is very tasteful. You absolutely must try out a side of polenta and risotto - both the best I've ever had anywhere! There's also a cool lounge downstairs for after-dinner drinks.
