Lummus Park in Miami Beach is located right across from world famous Ocean Drive in South Beach. What else does somebody need to say? If you are looking for a fun, urban, people watching beach, then Lummus Park is the place to go if you are anywhere near South Beach.
Stretching from 5th street to 14th street on Ocean Drive, the park and beach is full of many types of people and activities. People playing volleyball, rollerbladers, artists, skateboarders, sun-bathers, and many other people make this beach one of the best people watching and active beaches in the city. Best of all, Ocean Drive is right next door, ensuring that sun-bathers and partiers are never too far from the action.
Once on the beach, one is greeted by a wide and ample beachfront. The characteristic (and each different) lifeguard stands can be seen dotting the entire beach to the north and south. On a good day the beach can be incredibly crowded, but on a calm, off-season day, Lummus Park is a great spot to go watch the moon come up or read a book. At night, the lights of Ocean Drive make a walk through the park an enjoyable experience.
Lummus Park in Miami Beach is not be confused with Lummus Park in the City of Miami, another urban park near Downtown Miami
