The Venetian Pool is truly a unique aquatic facility unlike no other in the country. The pool has been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world. A Coral Gables landmark, included in the National Register of Historic Places, the pool was built in 1923 from a coral rock quarry, the pool is spring fed and designed to resemble an Italian grotto.
Coral Rock borders surround the pool accented by Venetian style rock construction of two towers on the property. The Venetian Pool’s beauty is also accentuated with its loggias, porticos, palm trees and its signature bridge.
Still, the most distinguishing feature of the pool is the 820,000 gallons that is fed by spring water from an underground aquifer. In the spring and summer seasons, the pool is filled and drained into the aquifer daily! Of course the aquifer is not the only feature that enhances a visitor’s experience. There are two waterfalls that provide fun and a scenic background and the caves and grottos provide a fun experience for swimmers.
It truly is an experience you will never forget!
