Great place to watch sports
Great place to watch sports games and fights. Get there early and grab a cozy booth, some with their own TV! Crowd is great and food is yummy and affordable.

Waxy's is a good spot for catching a bite to eat or getting a good pint of beer. It's right next to the Miami river, and on occasion, one sees boats pull up so everyone can get out and have a beer. Definitely an Irish Pub a la Miami...
The food is good, but could be a little better, which is why it loses 1 star. I also wish they had a better draft beer selection, which is why the lose another in my book. I would expect an Irish pub to carry more that a couple Irish beers and a selection of crappy commercial lagers and beers (Budweiser, Miller, etc) . In my humble opinion, I would like to see Waxy's carry some more original and unique craft beers, in addition to the traditional Irish heavyweights of Guinness, Harp, etc.
Just take a look at cities like NY, Boston, etc. Go to an Irish Pub there and you will usually only find some great craft beers. Other than that, no complaints.

Waxy's is definitely the whole package, great location, incredibly delicious food, a nice mixed group of super fun hot bartenders, amazing live shows (national and international acts), fair drink prices, great crowd and a true Irish pub feel! It's the best of Downtown Miami without the attitude!! Guaranteed you'll have a good time!

Going to Waxy's is a guaranteed sure fire GREAT time! Great specials every day of the week! The food is good (I highly recommend the mac n' cheese...it's heaven!). But what keeps me coming back is the amazing bar staff!! Talk about loving what you do! The bartenders at Waxy's can not only make you a great drink, but they put on a show behind the bar too! You're guaranteed a great time with great people.
A little off the beaten path...
Waxy's is a cool spot to have a beer, eat some grub and shoot some pool without spending too much. It's definitely the closest thing we have to a real pub in downtown! The service is good, but unfortunately the parking situation is always a problem.
